Slow Cooker Baked Ziti

Slow Cooker Ziti is cooked completely slowly-even pasta! Much easier than the previous version, but the taste is the same!

This Crockpot Bake Sweetie is obviously not baked. If you really like it, add eggs and ricotta cheese and stir. (Even Serious Eats doesn’t confuse my lack of recipes) I put it in a baking dish and spread it out to bake.

Ingredients Of Slow Cooker Baked Ziti

  • Prepare 1 lb ground beef (or turkey or Italian sausage)
  • Prepare 1 onion finely chopped
  • You need 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • It’s 1 teaspoon salt
  • It’s 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • You need 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • Prepare 28 oz can diced tomatoes
  • Prepare 650 ml jar pasta sauce about 2 ½ cups
  • You need 2 1/2 cups water or chicken broth
  • You need 375 gram box Penne or Ziti or other short pasta (about 4 cups)
  • You need 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Step by Step Instructions Slow Cooker Baked Ziti

  1. Fry the minced beef and onions in a large frying pan until brown. Add garlic and salt and boil for 1 minute. (Option: You can also add raw onions and spices directly to the slow cooker to save time)
  2. Put the beef mixture, basil, parsley, tomatoes, pasta sauce and water in a 4qt (or more) slow cooker. Mix.
  3. Cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours.
  4. Set the slow cooker high. Add pasta and stir until everything is combined. Cover and continue to cook for 15-30 minutes (depending on how hot your slow cooker is) – check the 15 minute mark and stir.
  5. Sprinkle with cheese and cover for 3-5 minutes until cheese is melted.
